At the heart of SDN Foundation is the vision of Subhasis Chatterjee — a pioneering entrepreneur, web journalist, and social impact leader. With a career rooted in digital empowerment and community development, Subhasis has dedicated his life to creating equitable access to knowledge and opportunity.
His journey of service and innovation spans both grassroots and global platforms. Subhasis has led over 100 sustainable and rural development projects under Rotary International, District 3291, impacting lives across underserved regions through initiatives focused on clean water, education, entrepreneurship, and skill-building. Simultaneously, he has been actively contributing to WordPress Central, a global open-source tech community, for the past six years, helping democratize digital tools and support digital creators worldwide.
As the founder of SDN Foundation, he recognized the urgent need to support underserved youth, rural entrepreneurs, and job seekers with the tools they need to thrive in an increasingly digital world. Drawing on his experience as the founder of the Indus Youniverse Mozilla Club, Subhasis champions the power of digital literacy, innovation, and practical skill-building as core drivers of change.
Every program we launch and every community we serve reflects his belief in sustainable empowerment. Through SDN Foundation, Subhasis has built more than an organization—he has created a platform that sparks self-sufficiency, nurtures local leadership, and fosters long-term social mobility.
